Critical National Infrastructure Sectoral
National infrastructure is defined as the critical assets that are essential for the
Kingdom of Bahrain for functioning purposes upon daily life dependency. Within this
infrastructure, there are certain elements extremely critical to the country that
their loss or compromise could directly result in loss of life, cause a debilitating
effect on the delivery of essential services, or otherwise cause widespread economic
or social impacts.
The methodology of the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) is identified based on
best practices.
Where a series of workshops and meetings were held in the presence of a number of
key representatives and stakeholders of most entities and sectors at the national
level, with the aim of discussing, evaluating, and identifying CNI sectors based on
specific criteria and mechanisms. Accordingly, the following CNI sectors were
identified for the Kingdom of Bahrain:
The official designation of seven (CNI) sectors will allow the Kingdom of Bahrain to improve cybersecurity more effectively and efficiently at a national level.
