Sectoral Cyber Drill
Overview
Cyber threats have increased in number and sophistication, and
such threats have targeted multiple sectors or critical national
infrastructures. Therefore, it is necessary to address these
threats by raising the cyber security readiness of the targeted
entities, sectors, and CNIs. As an entity representing the
Ministry of Interior, and the National Cyber Security Centre
(NCSC) has been organizing cyber security drills to increase
cyber readiness and improve the security posture of the
participants [entities/sectors/CNIs].
As part of the strategic initiatives of the National
Cybersecurity Center, NCSC ensures to run these cyber drills
exercises throughout the year, aiming to cover all sectors in
the kingdom of Bahrain.NCSC cyber drills achieve their intended
goal by testing the cyber readiness of participating entities ,
discussing [the current threat landscape / potential security
risks], and how to address them. Furthermore, cyber drills
educate participating entities on the importance of security
policies and standards and demonstrate the skills and tools
needed to implement them.
Objectives
NCSC cyber drills aim to test entities’ cyber capacity,
measuring their ability to identify, detect and respond to a
security incident, through exercises that discuss the current
threat landscape and any potential security risks that might
affect the participating entities. The drill also provides the
best way to address the highlighted threats.
All of this helps in measuring the cyber security readiness of
the entities.
