National Cyber Drill
Overview
The National Cybersecurity Center, through the National Cyber
Drill, seeks to test cyber readiness and enhance local expertise
and skills in cybersecurity. The program invites all specialists
in the field who represent sectors of the Kingdom of Bahrain
institutions to periodically attend the exercise, with the aim
of ensuring that the exercise keeps pace with developments in
cybersecurity risks.
These exercises measure the ability of organizations to
identify, detect and respond to security incidents, by
simulating hypothetical cyber-attacks that reflect some
potential attacks that may affect the integrity of the cyber
system in these organizations. The exercise also reviews
security risks and current threats and provides the best ways to
confront them and train attendees to monitor and neutralize
their impact.
These exercises deal with different types of attacks and put
forward the mechanisms necessary to respond to emergency cyber
incidents, or what is called the Incident Response lifecycle:
monitoring, analysis, containment, removal, and then recovery,
and lessons learned from the incident - according to the best
approved international standards and practices. This is to
contribute to enhancing the protection of infrastructure and
networks in the participating institutions, which in turn
contributes to raising the level of cybersecurity in the Kingdom
of Bahrain.
The National Cybersecurity Center is the competent authority for
cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the center works on
formulating a comprehensive strategy for cyberspace and setting
effective governance standards to implement it as a means of
defense and monitoring against electronic attacks and
intrusions, as well as spreading awareness among individuals and
institutions within the framework of achieving the Economic
Vision 2030 and contributing to promote the goals of sustainable
development.
