Cybersecurity Awareness Curriculum for the Educational Sector

Overview

The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), in collaboration with the "Ma’an" program, has developed an educational curriculum for cybersecurity awareness, which is the first of its kind in the Gulf region. The curriculum targets all school students from different levels of education, starting from elementary school to secondary school. It includes interactive lessons designed to suit the different age groups of students. The curriculum is delivered to all schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain through a number of facilitators from the "Ma’an" program (the police), which helps to enhance students' cybersecurity awareness and link it to the principles of digital citizenship.

Objectives

Introduce students to the concepts of cybersecurity, as well as the cybersecurity profession and its specializations
Enhance awareness of appropriate behaviors and safe use of technology
Encourage students to make informed decisions and take appropriate steps when facing risks
Empower parents to monitor and supervise their children's internet usage.
