The NCSC Participates in the 12th Regional Cybersecurity Week
His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed AlKhalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation at the 12th Regional Cybersecurity Week. The event took place at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) in the Sultanate of Oman and organized by the Regional Cybersecurity Center under the MTCIT. The event was attended by approximately 600 decision makers and 45 speakers from 60 countries, including Arab nations and members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Cybersecurity Week featured discussions on key cybersecurity topics, including latest updates, best practices and policies. The discussions also included fundamental strategies to support the digital economy regionally and internationally. Emphasis was placed on the significance of international cooperation in addressing global cyber threats and challenges, as well as on protecting infrastructure, governmental facilities, and critical national infrastructure.
H.E. Sheikh Salman praised the Sultanate of Oman for successfully organizing the 12th Regional Cybersecurity Week, which gathered cybersecurity experts from various countries. The event aimed to unify efforts, exchange knowledge, and discuss security measures to counter risks and cyberattacks in light of the technological and digital advancement in the virtual world.
The CEO also emphasized the importance of Cybersecurity Week, themed 'The Impact of Cyber Threats on the Digital Economy,' and its role in enhancing national skills and capabilities to counter cyberattacks. H.E. Sheikh Salman highlighted its contribution to boosting readiness to face future challenges and risks, which ultimately helps reduce response times to cyberattacks and safeguard digital systems, thereby supporting digital stability.
Cybersecurity Week featured a series of seminars and discussions, designed to showcase international expertise and experiences. The event also emphasized the vision of the Sultanate of Oman in enhancing the cybersecurity system as a means of economic diversification through investment in the cybersecurity sector. Additionally, significant attention was given to the importance of Arab, regional and international partnerships in fostering innovation and localization of cybersecurity industries.
