The NCSC Organizes a Series of Remote Training Workshops on the National Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework
The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), in collaboration with the SANS Institute, organized a series of training workshops with key sectors, including private companies, banks, and oil, gas, and energy companies, which represent the Kingdom’s most vital sectors. The first workshop targeted the financial sector, with participation from the Central Bank of Bahrain and leading banks and financial institutions. The second workshop focused on the transportation, oil, gas, and energy sectors and their affiliated companies, while the third addressed the telecommunications sector and major telecom companies in Bahrain.
During the workshops, participants reviewed and discussed updates to the National Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework and the tools for assessing cyber risks. Practical tools, developed according to international best practices, were demonstrated for use in risk evaluation. Participants also learned the fundamentals of cybersecurity risk assessment, including tools for analyzing and mitigating risks, presented by national experts and consultants in collaboration with the SANS Institute. The importance of the National Cybersecurity Risk Management Program was emphasized, highlighting its shared responsibility across all sectors in Bahrain.
The workshops covered how to identify and evaluate potential risks, calculate cyber risk levels for organizations and sectors, and reviewed lessons learned from conducting a risk assessment in one of Bahrain’s institutions. They concluded with practical examples from international experiences in cybersecurity risk management and assessment, followed by a question-and-answer session for participants to share insights and exchange knowledge.
