The NCSC Launches Its 2024 Awareness Lecture Series in Collaboration with the General Directorate of Ports Security

The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), represented by the Outreach and Awareness Directorate, held the first awareness lecture in its 2024 series, titled “Cybersecurity in the Workplace,” for staff of the General Directorate of Ports Security. This initiative is part of the NCSC’s annual awareness plan for Ministry of Interior personnel, aimed at promoting the importance of protecting data and electronic systems amid the increasing and evolving of cyberattacks. The lecture also addressed recent developments relevant to each department’s responsibilities, helping employees play an active role in safeguarding infrastructure and enhancing overall cybersecurity readiness.

The lecture covered the concepts of cybersecurity and information security, methods used to breach electronic systems, and the consequences of such breaches. It also addressed protection mechanisms against cyberattacks, including ransomware, securing devices, applications, and networks, key preventive measures to reduce system vulnerabilities, and best practices for maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
