National Cyber Security Center Participates in 'Safer Internet Forum'

The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) participated in the 'Safer Internet Forum' hosted by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the National Cyber Security Center, the Information and eGovernment Authority, and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in celebration of Safer Internet Day, which is hosted to educate and raise awareness among students about the importance of safe online use and to take protective measures when using the Internet. The forum was attended by 120 educators from public and private schools and 120 students from middle and secondary schools at the National Action Charter.

The National Cyber Security Center presented two workshops to faculty members and students in the Forum. The first workshop, 'How to Protect Yourself from Online Danger,' taught students about cybersecurity, its importance, the best cyber practices, and how to surf the internet safely. Students also learned about the most common cyber threats, how to leave a positive digital footprint, and how to be responsible online by stressing that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.

The second workshop, titled “Cybersecurity for faculty members and staff,” highlighted the concept of cybersecurity and the best ways to protect the school’s network when confronted with cyber threats, as well as knowing which precautionary measures are required to stay protected against cyber risks, educating, and encouraging students to use the internet safely and ensuring students' online safety when accessing school curriculums online.

During both workshops, attendees shared their experiences with cyber threats and responded to relevant questions during the workshops, and joined the Forum activities.
