National Cyber Security Center Signs an MoU with National Health Regulatory Authority
The National Cyber Security Center and the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cybersecurity cooperation in the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Center, and Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of the National Health Regulatory Authority, signed the memorandum of understanding.
National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. During the signing, a brief presentation was given on the nature of the Center's work and its contributions, talks were held on areas of cooperation, exchanges of experiences and ways to enhance communication to better serve hospitals and health centers in the field of cybersecurity. The memorandum incorporates that both parties will collaborate on setting cybersecurity policies for Bahrain's health sector. In addition to setting cybersecurity policies, it also includes cyber training and awareness workshops, and to give consultancy and support to assist health organizations in implementing cybersecurity standards.
The two parties have agreed to put in place the framework of the executive plan to implement the memorandum's provisions. An agreement was reached to recognize the importance of improving the health sector's cybersecurity capabilities, and to be able to establish security controls and defensive measures to ensure a safe cyber environment in the health sector, in accordance with international best practices and developments in the field of cybersecurity, and to raise awareness about the importance of health organizations, to safeguard their networks and systems, and to improve their cyber readiness against cyber threats.
Significantly, this memorandum was signed at the Arab International Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was attended by several of high-level international speakers and cybersecurity experts from around the world.
