National Cyber Security Center organizes a workshop “Cybersecurity Controls in the Financial Sector”
National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) organized a workshop in cooperation with Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) to discuss 'Cybersecurity Controls in the Financial Sector', in the presence of H.E Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Deputy CEO for Cyber Operations, at the National Cyber Security Center, and Mr. Yousef Rashid Al-Fadhel, Executive Director of Corporate Services at the Central Bank of Bahrain, and David Bayr, Consultant at SANS, as well as other consultants and experts in the field of cyber security in the financial sector.
H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa emphasized the importance of the financial sector, which is one of the most vital sectors in the Kingdom and stated that the National Cyber Security Center is working to increase the level of cyber security in the financial sector by cooperating with the banking sectors in the Kingdom to organize various awareness workshops that would apply cyber standards to the financial and banking sector.
The workshop highlighted security controls, that financial sectors and banking institutions must implement to combat security risks and cyber-attacks, to build a secure and innovative financial environment that is prepared to contain cyber-attacks in advance. The workshop also reviewed actors in the field of cyber threat and discussed ways to address cyber fraud to protect financial networks and systems and ensure the security of the financial and banking sectors.
To conclude the workshop, successful cyber experiences in companies and financial institutions were assessed by cybersecurity experts participating in the workshop, relevant experiences were exchanged and ways to enhance cooperation were discussed.
