The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) organized a specialized session for employees of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Interior, titled “Enhancing Cyber Readiness in Institutions.” The initiative is part of the NCSC’s efforts to strengthen the cyber resilience of national institutions and enhance personnel capabilities in addressing emerging technological challenges.
The session covered several technical topics on securing digital work environments, including vulnerability management and the implementation of encryption and backup measures for systems and data. It highlighted the importance of using multi-factor authentication as an effective tool for protecting accounts from attempted breaches. It also examined the risks of cyberattacks and ways to mitigate them, and reviewed key modern practices related to the security of software and operating systems.
The session also emphasized that these tools and technologies are vital for reducing the cyberattack surface and ensuring business continuity. Special attention was given to the human element as a central component of cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of employees following best practices to safeguard the digital work environment.
This session was part of a series of national initiatives aimed at enhancing the cybersecurity readiness of government institutions, in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strategic directions in digital transformation and information security.
