The National Cyber Security Center discusses launch of first Awareness Program for NGOs in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development

In light of awareness-raising efforts to reduce cybersecurity risks and the effects on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, The Outreach and Awareness Directorate at the National Cyber Security Center held a meeting with the concerned authorities at the Ministry of Social Development to launch the first awareness campaign for NGOs overseen by the Ministry of Social Development, in addition to discussing mechanisms of cooperation and coordination to provide awareness workshops for various NGOs.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Director of the Outreach and Awareness Directorate at the NCSC Ms. Aysha bin Haji, highlighted the most important cyber risks faced by NGOs in general, and best practices to reduce them in accordance with international standards.

For her part, the Director of the NGO Support Directorate, acting Assistant Undersecretary for Welfare and Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Social Development, Mrs. Najwa Abdullatif Janahi, expressed her gratitude and support for this initiative noting the importance of this step in achieving the desired goals that come to support and enhance cyber protection for NGOs.

The final discussions interchanged indicated the steps to be taken in cooperation and coordination for the preparation of an interactive Cybersecurity Awareness program targeting the categories under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Development, including the elderly and people with disabilities.
