Bahrain Participates in Second Regular Session of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council
The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), participated in the second regular session of the Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council. The session was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA). In attendance were ministers and senior officials responsible for cybersecurity from the Council’s member states, along with the Arab League’s Secretary General.
His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed AlKhalifa, CEO of the NCSC, led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation. His Excellency emphasized the significance of taking part in this session, as it serves as a key platform for strengthening Arab cooperation and integration in the field of cybersecurity and keeping pace with its rapid developments.
His Excellency further emphasized that Bahrain’s participation in this session reflects its commitment to continue supporting joint Arab efforts to enhance cybersecurity. He highlighted the importance of aligning strategies, sharing knowledge and expertise, and strengthening cooperation to help establish a secure, trusted, and sustainable Arab cyberspace that benefits all Arab countries and their citizens.
During its session, the Council discussed several key issues of mutual interest to Arab states, including the approval of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy and the move to join prominent international organizations and specialized bodies in the field. Additionally, the session reviewed a variety of working papers and proposals submitted by member states, focused on building capabilities, advancing cybersecurity policies, and promoting the exchange of expertise and best practices. These initiatives support the Council’s strategic goals, with a primary focus on strengthening cooperation to enhance readiness and enable joint responses to cyber threats.
The Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers is made up of Arab ministers in charge of the cybersecurity field. Its foundational charter was approved by a resolution from the League of Arab States during a summit, and the Council functions under the authority of the Arab League.
