The Kingdom of Bahrain Participates in the GCC’s Fourth Ministerial Committee Meeting for Cybersecurity
The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the fourth Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Cybersecurity Ministerial Committee Meeting for Cybersecurity, held in the State of Kuwait. The meeting brought together national officials and cybersecurity leaders from the GCC, along with the Secretary General of the GCC.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation was led by His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed AlKhalifa, CEO of the NCSC, who emphasized the importance of the meeting in strengthening coordination and joint efforts among GCC member states to keep pace with the rapid challenges and developments in the field of cybersecurity. The CEO also affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to participating in the meetings of the ministerial committee and to support GCC initiatives aimed at unifying efforts and enhancing regional cybersecurity.
The committee discussed several key topics, including the continued implementation of joint cybersecurity exercises and the approval of the executive plan for the GCC Cybersecurity Strategy (2024–2028). It also endorsed a framework for international cooperation and approved a governance mechanism for information sharing through the Cyber Threat Information Sharing Platform. Additionally, the committee approved the launch of the GCC Cybersecurity Podcast in partnership with the Information Security Association (Hemaya). Furthermore, it adopted the minutes of the fourth meeting of the Cybersecurity Executive Committee and its subcommittees.
The GCC Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity aims to align efforts and improve coordination among GCC member states, contributing to the protection of shared interests and the development of a secure and sustainable GCC cyberspace.
