Salman bin Mohammed: Exercise Success Reflects Strong National Coordination to Enhance Cyber Readiness
Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), stated that the national cyber drill “CYBER SHIELD 2025,” held under the theme “Supply Chain Attacks,” reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is conducted under the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Sheikh Salman emphasized that cybersecurity is regarded as a strategic priority to safeguard the nation's security against the growing wave of cyberattacks.
Sheikh Salman expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of Bahrain’s Royal Guard, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, for his patronage, support of the exercise, and diligent directives to ensure swift execution. His Highness’s guidance significantly contributes to strengthening national efforts to address evolving cyber threats targeting the government, private sector, and critical national infrastructure of the Kingdom.
Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa also expressed his deep pride in the successful execution of the exercise, which drew participation from various government entities, as well as the private sector and critical national infrastructure. The exercise featured a simulated scenario of an advanced cyberattack targeting supply chains, reflecting the growing reality of cyber threats in today’s digital landscape.
The CEO emphasized that broad participation was key to the exercise’s success, affirming that the coordination between the participating entities and the NCSC played a vital role in enhancing preparedness to respond to sophisticated cyber threats.
The CEO extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to the team at the NCSC responsible for organizing the exercise, commending their considerable efforts in executing and managing it in accordance with the highest international standards. Sheikh Salman also praised the effective cooperation and coordination demonstrated with all participants throughout the exercise, which significantly contributed to achieving its intended objectives.
