The Kingdom of Bahrain Is Recognized for Its Tier 1 Ranking on the Global Cybersecurity Index at CAISEC’25
The Arab ICT Organization (AICTO) honored the Kingdom of Bahrain for its Tier 1 ranking on the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI). The recognition took place during the opening ceremony of the Cyber & Information Security Exhibition & Conference (CAISEC), under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The event took place in Cairo, Egypt, on May 25–26, 2025.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohamed bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Deputy CEO for Cybersecurity Operations at the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), received an award of excellence in cybersecurity on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Sheikh Abdulla stated that the honor reflects international recognition of the efforts made by Arab nations to enhance cybersecurity readiness. Additionally, he emphasized the Kingdom’s advanced position at an international level, based on the results of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Sheikh Abdulla also noted that the Kingdom has successfully enhanced its cybersecurity readiness through a comprehensive national strategy, supportive leadership, and investment in qualified Bahraini youth. These efforts have strengthened the Kingdom’s position as a strategic partner in cybersecurity regionally and internationally. He further emphasized the importance of the NCSC’s participation in the conference, as it provides a valuable platform for exploring the latest security solutions, future trends amid rapid digital and technological transformations across strategic, technical and regulatory dimensions.
The fourth edition of CAISEC was held under the theme “Securing Futures, Bridging Technologies.” The conference featured over 180 keynote speakers, including leaders and experts in the field of cybersecurity from around the world. It brought together more than 5,000 participants, including decision-makers and specialists from critical national infrastructure sectors. The event aimed to strengthen the technological resilience of countries and organizations in the face of growing digital challenges. Additionally, it aimed to enhance cooperation between the private and public sectors, which would contribute to the development of a more secure and sustainable digital future across the Arab world.
