The NCSC Concludes the “Training of Trainers” Program for the Education Sector
The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) successfully concluded the “Training of Trainers” Program, focusing on cybersecurity. It targeted 70 teachers who are technology specialists from various schools. The program was conducted by the Outreach and Awareness Directorate of the NCSC in collaboration with the Education Policies and Development Directorate at the Ministry of Education.
Ms. Aysha Ahmed Haji, Director of Outreach and Awareness Directorate, explained that the program was launched in the last quarter of 2024 and continued until the first quarter of 2025. It aimed to enhance the capabilities of educational technology specialists in schools and developing their skills in cybersecurity through training workshops. Attendees were provided with various educational resources and supportive materials, such as the Awareness Toolkit.
Ms. Aysha added that the program included two workshops covering five key areas and various interactive activities to help teachers understand and apply the fundamentals of technology in the educational environment. The goal was to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to guide students in using technology safely and protecting their personal data, as well as to define the teacher’s role in effectively integrating cybersecurity into the curriculum.
The workshops also incorporated practical exercises and multiple discussions. These included topics such as protecting devices from breaches by presenting cases of cyberattacks to demonstrate how proper backup settings can prevent data loss and highlight the effectiveness of antivirus programs when used correctly. Additionally, the program covered strategies for securing virtual classrooms and educational platforms against potential threats. Discussions also explored correct methods used for teaching cybersecurity across different educational level.
Ms. Fatima Mahdi Hussein Muhammad Ali, Director of Education Policies and Development Directorate, commended the efforts of the NCSC, represented by the Outreach and Awareness Directorate, in developing the cybersecurity skills of technology specialists and promoting cybersecurity among faculty and administrative staff.
