The NCSC Participates in the GCC-Indonesia FTA Negotiations
Mr. Ali Mohammed AlZayani, Director of Cyber Defense at the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), took part in the second round of negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Republic of Indonesia, with the goal of enhancing economic ties. The negotiations commenced on February 3, at the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh.
Mr. Ali Alzayani, a cybersecurity expert and a member of the technical negotiation team specialized in digital trade representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, emphasized the critical role of cybersecurity in safeguarding data and transactions, thereby strengthening trust in digital trade and investments.
The second round of negotiations involved approximately 80 specialists and included 34 discussions covering a range of topics, such as trade in goods and services, investments, digital trade, intellectual property rights, and Islamic economic initiatives.
The second round of negotiations built upon the first session, held in September 2024, with the aim of strengthening economic and trade relations between the GCC and Indonesia for mutual benefit.
